THOSE EARLY MORNING BLUES
When you look around the rooms
at the litter here and there,
And you think of mops and brooms, and you cry out in despair -
YOU'VE GOT THOSE EARLY MORNING BLUES!
The only way to lick them is to
start where you are at,
To put things right in this room now - before you go to that -
TO CHASE THOSE EARLY MORNING BLUES!
You start in with a strong will
- throw out, put away and sort -
Side-tracked and interrupted 'til your plan you must abort!
YOU'VE GOT THOSE EARLY MORNING BLUES!
You plan to do that after, but
how little did you know
You'd hear the sound of laughter - and a happy shout, "Hello!"
THERE GO THOSE EARLY MORNING BLUES!
