A TOAST TO ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
In towns and cities they're wearin' the green
And this is what they say --
On this morn so bright
Ev'rythin's right --
'Tis now St. Patrick's Day!
Across the ocean from the Emerald Isle
The "little people" came
With the Irish folk --
And that's no joke --
All stories say the same.
They tell of the fairies dancin'
Sure 'n they're havin' lots of fun;
They may be seen
Decked out in green
Chasing a leprechaun.
On top of a toadstool and underneath
The shamrock with petals of three
Served up on a dish
To grant all a wish
While everyone's full of glee.
Over the meadow and through the town
The sound of the pipes is great;
The drums give the beat
For the marching feet
Of the Irish who celebrate!
Celebrate one and celebrate all --
The Irish will lead the way
With an invitation
To all the nation
To toast this St. Patrick's Day!
