Spicing it up
Rosemary, a friend of spices,
mixes them all the time;
Salt, sage, curry and cloves,
celery-seed, tarragon, thyme.
Garlic is her allspice of life,
chives and onion, too;
There's mace and mustard and oregano
-
don't forget what ginger can do.
Parsley, paprika and pepper, we
know,
basil, bayleaf and dill;
Cinnamon and nutmeg she loves most
of all
and uses them at will.
It's a talent to cook with just
the right spice,
using a teaspoon or pinch.
Spices give food the taste we love,
and once mastered, they say it's
a cinch.
