Nature’s Lesson

(written on a light note)

The burned, brown grass, the trees and flowers,
drank in every drop
From a much needed, all-day rain
falling from high atop.

For weeks the leaves just drooped and fell -
the flowers hadn’t strength to bloom;
We all agree the weeds still thrive
and take up all the room.

We can easily say, “It wasn’t enough.”
but the rain will come again soon
So the birds will sing and splash in the bath -
then sing another tune.

Our wells will replenish their sacred stock,
the trees will fill their roots,
And one day soon we’ll have to don
our rubber ducky-boots!

Nature always makes things right,
after a lesson given;
Appreciate each day as it comes,
for that is common-sense livin’.
